WHY PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT?

This development will be the gateway to the Spring Garden Road shopping district downtown. It is an intersection point as it borders the Dalhousie University Campus and the hospital and medical communities. It is important to hear from many people and multiple perspectives on how they will use and interact with the building. The public engagement process is a participatory interface to engage people around things they can influence and be clear about what they cannot influence during this developer led engagement.

Building Spring Garden West is running concurrently with the Centre Plan engagements. We encourage the public to participate in both of these opportunities to influence the future of urban development in HRM.

The Dexel Architecture team has informed HRM planning and technical staff about the ideas presented and public comments made during the first SGW public engagement. They will continue to update HRM about the progress through public engagement with the aspiration that both the Spring Garden West proposal and the Centre Plan can inspire the very best for the future of HRM’s urban fabric.
